Bitter Italian, A Great Low A.B.V. Cocktail

Are looking for a cocktail that is low ABV? What about something that has Amaro has the base of your cocktail?

The Bitter Italian created by Leandro from the The Educated Barfly checks both of those boxes. He specially choose Amaro CioCiaro as the main spirit to hold this drink up.

In addition to CioCiaro, he uses Aperol and a Maraschino Liqueur to give this drink a great complex and well balanced taste.

Leandro from the @TheEducatedBarfly created the Bitter Italian. This is a low ABV cocktail that uses three different Italian liquors.

Ingredients

  • 1.25 ounces 1.25 Amaro CioCiaro

  • 0.75 ounce 0.75 Aperol

  • 0.5 ounce 0.5 Maraschino Liqueur

  • 0.5 ounce 0.5 Lemon Juice

Directions

  • Add all ingredients into a shaking tin.
  • Add ice.
  • Shake hard for 12 - 15 seconds.
  • Double strain over large ice cube in double rocks glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist.

    This is a stirred cocktail, not shaken. I like to dial back the ciociaro to 1 and add .25 Fernet. Delicious.
