My inspiration for this drink was the Irish coffee. I wanted to make a warm drink using spices and other ingredients that you would find in tropical and or Tiki drinks.
Warm Wishes Cocktail Recipe
You're going to need a glass that can hold heat. I'm using this Irish coffee glass. If you don't have one of these, you may use any coffee mug you have at home.
Ingredients
- 2 Dashes of Pimento dram
- .25oz (7.5ml) Banana Liqueur
- .5oz (15ml) Housemade orgeat syrup
- .25oz (7.5ml) housemade Cinnamon Syrup
- .75oz (22.5ml) Rittenhouse Rye or any other 100 proof Rye
- .75oz (22.5ml) Hamilton Pot Still Black Rum
- 3oz (90ml) Hot Water
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in glass
- Float 1 oz Housemade coconut cream
How to Make Orgeat Syrup
Ingredients
- 125g blanched almonds
- 300ml hot water
- 300g granulated sugar
- 1tsp (5ml) Orange Flower Water
- 3oz (90ml) of Cognac
Instructions
- Place almonds in a pot and add water to cover.
- Simmer at 60 degrees Celcius (140F) for 30 minutes.
- Strain through a mesh strainer and blend the almonds through a food processor until smooth.
- Transfer to a food-safe airtight container, add the hot water, and let it sit for 2 hours.
- Strain through cheesecloth and now you got Almond Milk. Measure your almond milk and place it in a pot alongside the sugar.
- You want a 2:1 ratio of Sugar to Almond milk.
- In medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
- Let it cool completely and then add your orange Flower Water and cognac.
- Bottle, Lable and refrigerate.
